In this interview, television host Nancy Regan and Rolf Bouman discuss why Rolf became a Rotarian, why he founded the Friends United Initiative, and how he was able to connect both to help the Indigenous peoples of the North American continent and to fight prejudice. The Rotary Club of Port Hawkesbury and the Nova Scotian companies Canadian Pioneer Estates Ltd. and Canec Land Developments Inc. have been working together on many projects such as playgrounds and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples of the North American continent. Members of the Rotary Club of Port Hawkesbury went together with Indigenous artists and former Nova Scotia Premier Rodney MacDonald to the Rotary International Convention in 2019 in Hamburg.

Former television news anchor and book author Nancy Regan discusses with Indigenous carver Gerry Sheena and Friends United founder Rolf Bouman the many obstacles Indigenous artists face throughout their lives. Gerry Sheena, who is a Salish carver and Rolf Bouman were able to save 500-year-old logs from being cut up as wooden shingles and Gerry instead carved 7 totem poles.
